"There's a tendency to look upon labor intervention, such as induction, in isolation, when it should be regarded as more of a package deal.
👉With Pitocin comes amniotomy, internal fetal monitoring, immobilization, epidural, and urine catheter; often times a blood sample will be taken from the fetus's scalp to confirm a heart tracing, and an intrauterine pressure catheter will be insured to measure the contractions' strength within the womb.
👉👉👉INTERVENTION LEADS TO INTERVENTION-- chaos that the body may not be capable of resolving on its own. The term cascade of interventions is often employed and it calls up a powerful image.
Even the most benign and isolated of routine practices, such as intravenous fluids, introduces a foreign element into the delicate ecosystem of childbirth. IV fluids, for instance, dilutes the body's own oxytocin levels and can throw off a person's electrolyte balance."

The list of interventions that can alter the normal birth process is extensive...do you know and understand them all??
Medicine is a HUGE blessing in case of emergencies, but unnecessary medical intervention creates more risk for mother and baby!
Mother's deserve to be FULLY INFORMED!
