 Havilah Pittman CD, PD, RN

Hello! My name is Havilah Pittman. I am the owner of Lynchburg Doula Services, which was started back in December of 2020 after completing training locally and through the International Doula Institute.  I am a Certified Labor and Postpartum Doula, but I also have a background in critical care nursing. As a doula I strive to provide authentic and professional support to mothers and families during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum phase.

I knew I wanted to become a doula after my second baby. Getting to experience birth in an empowering, peaceful way opened the door to the birth community for me.  Empowering women to see birth as a beautiful and natural process while helping them achieve their pregnancy goals is truly a passion of mine. I love the pregnancy and labor process and am amazed at how incredibly strong and beautiful women are during this phase of life. I am married to a wonderful man and we have three children. Being a mom and having gone through labor three times has also opened my eyes beyond just the science behind pregnancy and birth. It has given me an understanding and compassion for moms entering this exciting and demanding phase of life.

A mother who feels loved, cherished and supported is how every mother should feel. I pray I can be that for you and your family!

Aimee Lehman CD, PD & ICD

Hello, friends! My name is Aimee. I am a Certified Birth Doula, and a Certified Infant and Postpartum Care Doula. I live in Lynchburg with my husband and our three kids. Each stage of motherhood has its gifts and challenges, and I am truly grateful for the journey thus far. Currently my family and I are loving all things Lego, family game nights, and family pool days, especially now that all three kiddos can swim!

I knew I wanted to be a Doula shortly after my first baby was born. It took a few years of adjusting to new motherhood for that dream to become a reality, but I finished my training in 2019. My desire is to come alongside both new and experienced mothers and help them to see themselves as strong, smart, and capable of so much and to help them during the season of adding a new life to their families. I also believe that understanding the basic phases of labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery can help alleviate fears and give each family excitement and confidence as they begin this journey. I am so grateful to do this work and would consider it a great honor to be a part of your birth support team!

Ellie Hester CD, RN

Hi, I’m Ellie! I’m a nurse who became a certified childbirth doula when I found my passion in all things birth, motherhood, and holistic nourishment. I have been married to my high school sweetheart since 2016 and we have 3 amazing kiddos!

During my first pregnancy, I found a deep fascination with how God designed pregnancy and birth. My labor was long and hard, and when I found myself pregnant with our son a few years later, our midwife recommended we hire a doula. I didn’t know much about doulas at the time, but we took her advice. Experiencing pregnancy and birth with a doula was transformational for me. Not only did having a doula’s support make a night and day difference in our pregnancy and birth experience, but I also realized that I wanted to be a doula, too. I found that being a doula gave me the ability to combine all my passions and interests into one role.

I consider it an immense privilege to support women in their motherhood journey. I don’t want you to be alone as you navigate the unknowns. I want you to feel championed, knowledgeable, and confident no matter what choices you make for your pregnancy and birth. I want to be there stroking your hair, whispering encouragement, and believing in you when you question your own ability to do it. I know you can, and you will.

Samantha Hunsley CD

Hi everyone! My name is Samantha and I received my doula certification through DONA International. I completed my training with them in November 2023. I recently moved back to Lynchburg after living in Royal Palm Beach, Florida. I live here with my husband and two beautiful children, a girl and a boy. While staying home with my kids full time, our days are filled with play, books, and lots of toys. Recently, we've been adjusting to being back in Lynchburg and we are excited to build more community here.

My dream of becoming a birth doula began with the birth of my daughter. I felt educated, supported, and so cared for during my birth with her. Throughout my pregnancy, I learned what a doula was and I saw myself stepping into this one day in the future. It took a few years for this to happen, but I couldn't be happier to step into this new role. My hope is that I can help educate and support women and families. I desire for women to see themselves as capable and know that they are safe and cared for. I never want a woman to feel like she doesn't have options or make a decision out of fear. There are many decisions during pregnancy and labor, and I would love to help you navigate those options. It's a blessing to be a part of your birth team!

Madison Hunter CD

Hello! My name is Madison Hunter. I grew up in Michigan and moved to Virginia for college. My husband Matthew and I have been married for 5 years. We have been blessed with 3 beautiful children. Leslie, Blakeleigh and Oakley, all under 4 years old. Being a wife and mama is such a joy! I can’t imagine life without them. In my spare time, which is scarce with three small children, I love to thrift and bake. My babies are the reason I became a doula. Following my first pregnancy, I was in awe of the way God created women to bring life into the world. Our bodies were perfectly and intricately created with every tiny detail considered! My mission as a doula is to support, encourage and motivate families through pregnancy and birth, whether it is their first baby, or they’ve had several babies. Each experience is unique, as are the needs of each family. I would love to provide personalized care and guidance during your season of pregnancy, birth and beyond!

Kia Tindel CD, PD & ICD

Hi friends! My name is Kia, I am a certified Infant and Postpartum Care Doula, as well as a certified Labor and Childbirth Doula here at Lynchburg Doula Services. I have a background in Clinical Mental Health specializing in women and children. As a doula my intention is to create a peaceful and supportive environment for mothers and families to find beauty throughout their pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum journey.

I began working as a doula shortly after attending graduate school and working in the mental health field. I truly loved my job and the clients I had the opportunity to get to know. But something was missing- being able to go beyond the paperwork and truly see and help each client as a person rather than just a case number.

This is where I found doula work and the birth community. Already having a natural desire to know and understand everything that surrounds bringing a life into this world, I began my training as a doula. During this time I gained a whole new level of adoration for God’s creation. I saw the journey as a holy and sacred gift from God and knew mothers and families deserved to experience such a gift in the way God intended for it to be. It’s a gift filled with overwhelming joy and love. Where every heartbeat seems to echo the promise of new beginnings.

Becoming a doula for me, became a space where love, strength, and vulnerability intertwine. And compassion combined with the joy of welcoming new beginnings foster a community built on understanding and support.

I cannot think of anything better than serving mothers and families during one of the most exciting gifts life has to offer.

I have supported  several women during their pregnancy and birth, including multiple high-risk pregnancies such as VBAC and geriatric mothers. I am currently a volunteer doula for Lynchburg Doula Services and volunteer teacher at the Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center, while finishing training to become a Certified Midwife. Virginia, Certified Hormone Health Coach

A holistic health coach specializing in women's hormones. I struggled with my own chronic health issues for 10+ years; conventional medicine could only give me medication and natural medicine could only give me supplements & restrictive diets… neither helped. I wanted to truly heal. So I quit all the pills and complicated diets and went back to the basics and healed. I wanted to become a doctor, but dropped out of med school and became a health coach instead. I wanted to have the time + space to link arms with you, and teach you the foundational health principles we were never taught so you can be empowered to balance your hormones naturally. I believe that's where health truly begins - is in the home, not the doctor's office. We need more coaches you can walk this road with you. I know how difficult and isolating it can be. But I want to show you that when we create the environment your body needs to heal, it will.
